Noodling

I have been noodling around the same book idea for what might seem to be an eternity.  Even to me it feels like it's been an excessively long time since I first started writing this book nearly fifteen years ago. But like a fine wine, I hope time has only added to this manuscript. I've been tweaking and editing for so long now that the original bears very few similarities to what I now have in completed form. Simmering on the back burner has allowed this gem to become even more savory, its flavors melding into what I hope readers will find to be a true delight.

When I was young and wanted to buy something, my mom used to suggest to me that I walk away from the object of my desire. If I still wanted it later, then it wasn't just an impulse, it was something that I really and truly wanted. I have lived by this ideology my entire life.  Asking myself, Do I really want this? and if I still wanted it hours later, or the next day . . . you get the idea . . . then it was meant to be.

So here I am, years later, sitting on the manuscript of my heart's desire.  This book is no longer new to me.  So much has changed in my life and in the world since I first typed "The End," on what would turn out to be nothing close to the end.  Several revisions and re-writes later, and I am finally querying agents for this little literary gem that keeps knocking on the door of my heart.

Have I really and truly penned the final words at the end of this book?  Only time will tell, because I'm fairly certain this one isn't going away.

I shall keep you posted.

In the meantime, keep on Tippety Tapping!

Yours Truly!
